    Credit Card Check

Anyone Bank Of America might want to call up and see if your card has been compromised.

I noticed two weird charges on my account, both same amount and both from UPS. So I call UPS and they say that the order was made through my name but the address was not mine. UPS is refunding me the money and BOA is sending me a new card. I wish that BOA would have told me but they said that some of their cards had been compromised and they were sending out new ones tomorrow.

On another note UPS gave me the address of where the person that stole my credit card has been requesting pick ups at... I wonder if I shall investigate or If this address is the real person that stole my card info if I could get the police involved and have them arrested and charged?

The address is about 2 miles from my house and they were using it to ship things out not receive.

It is in an apartment complex.

My bank told me that, normally, the credit card issuing entity follows up, involving law enforcement if needed. I wouldn't try to confront anyone personally -- let the authorities handle it.

I would like to see the person prosecuted. I mean he cost me about 10 minutes worth my time and about 20$ that I am getting refunded from UPS but I don't know if they have been doing this with other people and how much time and money they have lost.

I keep a pretty good eye on all my expenses so when things like this happen I can catch them pretty quick before they get out of hand!

Thanks for the notice on this. Just checked my Accts..all good. But I did have my Debt Card get compromised a few months back. Started seeing Netflix charges in Spanish. Someone had gotten my debt card info and was buying pay per movies in Spanish.
Got it cleared up and a new card issued. Started back tracking and found I went to a gas station that I do not normally go to. Paid at the Pump -- guess they had a way to read my card. That was the only thing out of the normal for me in that time frame..
Not going back to that part of the county again !!!

Not necessarily. I had 7k stolen from my account involving my ex wife using my numbers and the bank released me from the debt and reimbursed me but when I asked about them following up legally they suggested I make the claim that they were only interested in seeing that I got the funds back.

                        My Cabelas card got hacked...

2 years ago. I noticed it when I couldn't use my zip code at the gas pump. Called Cabelas and they said everything was ok. Tried it again and it didn't work. Then my statement didn't show up in the mail and couldn't log into my account. Finally got logged in and found $3500 in charges that weren't mine. The jackwagon bought a scope out of a place in California, bicycle parts out of California, and something else. Called the scope dealer and the guy told me he knew it wasn't me that bought the scope. When I asked how he knew that he said his caller ID gave him my name. The scope was purchased using a Paypal account and it said to confirm the purchase. When the dealer called the number associated with the account the jackwagon answering sounded like he was eastern European or Russian. He refunded my money. Called Cabelas, cancelled the card, challenged the charges and the credit card security guy asked my if I had bought $900 worth of stuff from Babies R Us in New jersey. I said HECK NO! That got cancelled before it went through.

Back up a little. The scope dealer gave me the name and address of where it was shipped to. I looked it up on the appraisal district website in King County, Washington and found the house. Picture and all. House was in the same name as the guy who bought the scope. And the guy signed for the package! I filed a complaint with the PD for that town and they ultimately replied back that I must file the complaint locally. Did that. Called the chief investigator for my local agency later in the week and I might as well have been talking to Eyore. She said we've got to make sure its a real building, I said I've got a picture of it from the appraisal district, Then she said we've got to call up there and talk to the other agency YADA YADA YADA. I could tell she wasn't very interested in doing anything.

All I wanted was the local agency to go do a knock and talk. If the dirt bag opens the door and there are a bunch of UPS and FEDEX packages sitting around, there might be a problem.

The dirt bag changed the billing address that's why I never got the bill. The address change showed up on all three credit reports too. Took me all weekend to get everything challenged and fixed. I was ****** to say the least. It took everything I had to keep from buying a plane ticket and going up there and dealing with it myself.

I spent 30 years in LE and shocked that no one would do anything. I'm still ******.

I Highly doubt the local police will do anything except let you file it for a report number needed on an insurance claim. How dirtbag a neighborhood is the apartment located in?

The Apartment complex is in a pert of town kinda all by itself by the highway, but I know it is low income and mostly black and Hispanic population that live there.
