Bow hunter education field day shooting distances

How far are the shots for the bow hunter education field days? I've read anywhere from 10-40 yards.
I've switched to traditional and I don't practice much past 23 and don't shoot anything more than 15 yards. Wondering if I need to figure something out for a field day.

When I took mine a couple of years ago there was no set range.
The instructor, txjourneyman, set out a bag target with a steel silhouette in front of it, the vitals area was cut out.
We'd walk to where we wanted to shoot from. The instructor would ask us the distance. He'd verified the range with his rangefinder and we'd shoot.

I ask at the beginning of each class, "What is your maximum comfortable range shooting at a whitetail deer size animal?". I have each person write down their answer. When it comes time to shoot, that is the distance I ask then to shoot from.

I would answer 5 yards Greg.

Yep, that's the way we did it with 2050. They didn't think I could estimate 32 yards but I did and hit where I was supposed to. That was at the old Texins range close to TI.

Thanks for the help. Now to find a class that lines up with my days off and is reasonably close to Midland. Havent got one to line up correctly yet.
