    Clean corn in Lampasas?

I usually get corn at Browns but man it's extra extra dirty lately. Any good place to get cleaner corn under $6 per 50 in Lampasas?

Good luck....HEB in town....Just cough up the cash and get on the road. Browns has chunks of cobs in it that clogs up your feeder.

Not sure what Hoffpauir's ranch and supply is charging, but it's worth a call.

Hoff has good corn but in paper bags. Browns is always dirty it seems, but the cheapest you will find.

I've always used Browns. I love the store. It's great to see people that old working that hard still.

But I've never seen the corn this dirty. Must be 5+ pounds of dust in each bag. Maybe it was at the very end of the corn silo or something.

                Buccee's has the cleanest corn I've found. Under $6 a 50# bag.

$7.69 buy enough and they go down to $7.19. I'd rather get HEB corn when I'm getting gas.

Browns was around $5.50 last I looked. HEB was either $7 or $7.50

I don't hunt up there any more but Browns has always had dirty corn. I used to bring it with me or buy it at HEB. I can't tell you how many times I would go up and my feeder would be plugged up.

I think they fixed the big husk problem. At least I didn't see big things in there the last 5 or 6 times I bought from them. But it's so much more dusty dirty now versus before I can't explain it.

I didn't mind being some dusty as I figured the wind catches that ground corn scent better but now it's ridiculous.

This time of year, you are still seeing last years corn. coming from closer to the bottom of the silos. That is part of the reason for more dust. Corn crops are just starting to be harvested around here, should be cleaner corn in the near future but at Brown's it will never be super clean.
