The 06 will have adjustable cams with modules for draw length & the speed vs. smooth mod option and no chance of a cam lock-up that MIGHT occur on the 05 if the string & cable weren't just so when let out of the press.

I've never read of any TBHers having a lock-up, but a warning label did come with the early 2005's (maybe all of them).

Please explain the cam lock up. I have an '05 and have yet to have any complaints. It is a sweet bow.

I'd personally do the 06 without thinking twice, the adjustable cam and the ability to switch between speed and smooth mods is well worth it.

I never dealt with this and haven't seen it first hand, but there was a warning about it.
To the best of my knowledge, this is how it worked-

The cam lock up had to deal with the fact the cams could roll all the way over past the full draw position if the draw stop peg was removed or adjusted too far out. The bow would still have pressure on the limbs (via the cable?), but the cams wouldn't roll back over without being pressed first.
This is with the first year model binaries only.

The 2006's & up (possibly the late 05's) have a stop built into the cam where the string/cable runs around to prevent the lock-up from occurring. You could adjust the peg where ever you want and it still wouldn't lock- up.

Maybe a shop owner or someone else in the know could chime in with more info.....

I can tell you from first hand experience that an 06 Bowtech will still lock in full draw if the draw stop is removed. According to Bowtech the new 06s were not supposed to be able to lock at full draw. I was at the archery shop one day and we took out the draw stop. I came to full draw and the bow locked up. We had to get a ladder and me stand on it at full draw to get the bow in the press. Once the limbs had been pressed it released out of full draw. The bow I was shooting at the time was an 06 TomKat. You need to make sure that you still have the draw stop in and it is set correctly for the draw length module that you have screwed to the cam. Not a fun experience I can assure you.

Good to know, I know you can fudge the draw stop peg up and down away from the factory setting SOME, but I never went too extreme on it.

06' made by Mathews , they wish.
