    Baited Stalk Idea

I was thinking about ways to pattern hogs (enough) to a path on the lease for the purposes of walking the baited path, spot and stalk style....

What if f I took a one man gas-powered post-hole digger (auger) and dug a bunch of holes on the path, filled the holes with layers of corn/koolaid/sour corn/peanut butter/literally any food product/etc and dirt until the holes were filled back up?

Do you think they would keep coming back to root at the holes dug for a little while?

I want to spot and stalk, but I don't have the time to go out and bait the site every time before I hunt.

This is what I do but I use pipes. It keeps em there for hours. Bait 3-4 then walk from one to another all night ( staying downwind and well away from them ) Dont walk in that area for preferably 8-12hrs before. I bait em a few days before then again in the morning before the might Im going to hunt.

We've put a lag bolt through the top of a barrel and chained to a stump.
Drill a few holes in barrel for corn to dribble out.
Hogs will roll the barrel back and forth for hours, you can hear the barrel from a long ways and makes for an easy stalk when they walk behind barrel.

I just corned the roads and senderos, and then once it was dark, I walked them, into the wind. One thing to be aware of though, when you corn, the rats come, followed by the snakes, so wear snake boots.

The above ideas of pig pipes and corning a road or path sounds like a better idea.

I have a great relationship with the rancher and the last thing I want to do is encourage hogs to root or dig holes. That's what I fear would happen from your plan.

The pipes work weve done it on 3k acres and 700 acres and just drove to within about 400 yards (with no line of sight) stop the ride hang out for a few then walk up on them they're not that smart in my opinionespecially once they are eating they're pretty easy to sneak up on if they're there they usually hang around and let us get close enough to shoot them. I've seen people put bells on end of pipes online...I haven't but makes since especially for this kind of hunting you'll know they are there before you see them

I will heed the suggestions of the Green Screen but likely with a slight modification: hog barrels as opposed to pipes. It is the same idea, but I can put more corn in a barrel than a pipe.
