This is why I never leave my antlers with a taxidermist. I always take the antlers home and tell them to call me when they are about to mount mine.

True they do not need them for the mount. Its one of the last things right?

Sounds like the said taxidermist needs to have his knees busted with a baseball bat. If that doesn't work, maybe waterboarding. I can promise you with the right pressure, he'll lead you to them. Good luck

This is why I never leave my antlers with any taxidermist for any length of time. After I drop the head off, I go back within a day or two and pick up my antlers. When he is ready to attach them to the mount I take them back. They never have my antlers more than a couple weeks total. Sorry to hear about your buddy's problem and hope he can get them recovered.

I do the same, peel mine all the way out that way its easier to keep in a trash bag in the ice chest till I get by my taxi. and skullmount the head so all my buddies can coonfinger it for the next 10 months or so till my taxi is ready for it

He did exactly that. Must have shut the doors not long after my peer took his antlers to him to get his mount finished.

Hate to hear about all the "taxidermy horror stories", but glad you found your antlers. Did the same guy have them? How did he get them? What a bout the capes?

This same dude in Tyler ripped my father in law off on a duck mount . Mount was paid in full and 2 yrs. later no duck, no phone call, no nothing. This guy is worthless! Same thing happened to a lady I work with. Her dad dropped off a big bass and left his cooler and a piece of drift wood he was supplying and a year later nothing. He has actually contacted the game warden about this guy. He also talked to the owner of the building that the taxidermy was being done at and the owner told him he was gonna open up the building Monday the 25th and let people come in and try to find their possessions. The owner of the building is out a bunch of money on back rent so he is not happy with this guy either! The place I am referring to is on Hwy 155 in Noonday and he use to have a shop in Athens. I hope everyone can get their belongings back. It's just a bad deal all the way around.
