    Window AC question

My window AC is blowing cold air, it is rated for 160 square feet, (I have 120 sq feet) but it can't keep the space cool. This is the first year this has happened.

And, the condensation is leaking toward the wall, very little is dripping out the drain. It is level, slightly canted back away from the building.

Any suggestions on what to do to fix it? Should I scrap it and get a new one?

Yes, it is a 12 x 10 portable building, insulated. In the past the AC has kept it where I set the temp - 80 degrees, but now it won't even keep it at 90.

Take it out of the window, take the case off and hose out the bottom of the unit. I just did this yesterday. The A/Cs today don't have a drain and they get full of slime and the condensation doesn't evaporate as it should. I drilled drain holes in mine but still have to hose it out once a year.

Okay! I forgot about that! Will that help cool it off, too?

Since you have it out, wash the coils also.

If you can't pull it right away take your garden hose and wash your condensor coil that is out side of your window That should help and take the palm of you hand and feel the evaporator coil which is the one that is in the inside of your house and it should be cold or wet with condensate the whole height of the coil ( remove filter first )

The new window unit has a condesate pitch fan which pick up the water from the drain and pitches up on the consensor to keep it cool if it not draining it want pitch water on consensor ( but you said you already drilled holes in bottom)

              Yep.

              Clean them yearly.
