    Car Wreck Advice

    My wife was in an accident Friday that was not her fault. Without going into the scenario, my question is simply: Should we file a police report? No police came to the scene.

    We have pics of his license and insurance, FYI.

      It's been a long time since I worked an accident...but I think you have to report it if it's over $500 in damage. But that was 15-20 years ago. =)

        No you usually do not have to... When I got in my wreck that cost about 1800$ in repairs, there were no police called to the scene but I had a witness and also called their insurance and gave them my side of the story and called my insurance letting them know what happened and answered all their questions.

        About three days later their insurance called me saying that they came to conclude that it was the other persons fault and that they would pay for it.

          Go to the DPS site and see if you still are required to file a blue form accident report.

            File a blue form(CR-2) with the DPS.
