    Vent thread!

Since I don't gun hunt at all I opt to skip opening weekend of gun season, heck I skip most weekends because being a fireman I have the luxury of going during the week. Well a friend of mine on the lease called me monday and told me some jackhole on the lease threw his hog guts out in my hunting area, so I called him and asked about it, he said "it won't bother the deer" I said probably not you a hole but you had to drive thru my foodplot to go anywhere in my area, he said well I saw an area that had been disked, I said bingo you idiot thats it. Well I proceeded to use some fire station language on him and he got the point, well yesterday and today i went hunting and nada, nuthin, zilch. I had been seeing deer every sit till now, corn still on ground for 2 days, btw i found the pile of guts, ranged it from my setup. 30yds, what a squirrel. Had to vent ,thanks.

I don't think the guts would really scare the deer off. I shot a deer last year and she fell over right on a trail. I still had deer coming down the same trail right after I shot her. But still he shouldn't have gone in your area. I bet him driving in there let the deer know it's not a good spot to be. Good luck to ya!

lol while it was rude i have never seen it scare off deer. we use the same tree in mason to skin every deer, there is guts there all season long, and some of the biggest bucks we see on the ranch travel the fencline that is ohhh maybe 75 yards away? it doesnt scare deer off

That is a bunch of crap. Scaring deer off is the problem it is the lack of respect for others.

Maybe it would help if you had a chance to meet the others so they could see you are a good guy and they would give you the respect you deserve.

Hill Country maybe not....East Texas....anything could potentially scare off deer.

How did he know where your stand / food plot was...

unless he has been driving thru there before just now? Besides, if it "won't bother the deer" then why didn't he gut the hog RIGHT WHERE HE KILLED IT AT HIS STAND instead of hauling them to YOUR area? I smell BS in his words.
