To Do In Houston - City Pass?

We're are heading down tomorrow. We have an idea of what we want to do, but I'm making sure that we don't miss anything, so I'll take any advice.

Looking at the City Pass right now, but I'd like to make sure we get our money's worth.

Two adults and two kids between 6-9.

I'd also like to fit in some fishing, so shore based areas would be appreciated as well in Galveston.

Didnt know anything about the city pass, pretty cool. The price seems like a pretty good deal.

Theres lots to do in Houston. The local favorite is to get out, but you can find alternatives like the Museum, Zoo, Aquarium downtown, basketball with BoB in 5th ward, Take a tour of minute maid park, go view where Astro World used to be-some sorta kickball place now, steal a seat from the astrodome , Bass Pro Shops has an aquarium too that you could probably sneak a line into...

If you want a true local experience....

Jump on the 610 west loop about 3:30 and take that up to 290 then 290 to about cypress Rosehill.

If you are going downtown at all here's a tip I use quite often. Park for free at Phonecia Market and grab some great Mediterranean food there and drinks at the bar. Use that as your base to take advantage of the free parking garage. If you are in a big truck forget this suggestion.

On a serious note, if you are in a pickup or large SUV, DO NOT LEAVE ANYTHING in it at the hotel. There has been a rash of breakin's all over town at the hotels looking for firearms.

Know a guy that was here just a few weeks ago, stayed in Galleria area and almost every pickup in the lot had a smashed window. Not what you would expect for Galleria area.

Hardy toll road is closed this weekend, correct? Drag racing?

All kidding aside...never heard of the city pass, but that doesn't seem like too bad of a deal and it covers most of the major "sight-seeing" places in Houston. It may be a little crowded with school being out but will be better since you are seeing some of it during the week.

                          Eat, eat, eat
St Arnold's Brewery tour (and many other brewery/distillery tours)
Kick Sheila Jackson Lee in her fat ***
Battleship Texas tour and San Jac Monument then eat at Monument Inn
                          Sea Wolf Park
Go to Galveston and see if you can drive all the way down Seawall Dr without resorting to violence
Drive to 45 and Greenspoint and see if you can make to the HPD station in the mall before your car is jacked from you
Go to East End Park in Kingwood and watch people carry in bedroom furniture to take pictures on
Beltway 8 racing at 2 in morning
Join Equusearch for an afternoon of searching for dead bodies

                          Houston. Home, sweet home

The Natural Science Museum is awesome. Could spend a whole day there. Lots for young kids to do.
