Need opinions on duck blind bags

Needing to get a new blind bag for duck season this year and wanted some input from the green screen. I hunt mostly public land so its a long walk in and out and the bag is usually sitting in shallow standing water or mud during the hunt so the bottom has to be tough and completely water proof.

The drake blind bags are good. I've got the big one and the five box WMA bag. The WMA one ain't waterproof but I just get the heavy duty ziploc bags for shells, or hang it on a limb with the loop made for it.

I have a drake blind bag that does fairly well the biggest thing I do is bring a jet-sled with me when I walk in and set it directly in front of me and put all of my stuff in it including my gun bag. Things definitely stay dry that way.

I agree that's actually the style of bag I've been looking at mostly.

That's what we did last year with the sled but this year were going to pack all of our gear in because its such a pain dragging that **** sled in and out where we hunt.

Check out the Ultimate Back Pack by Tangle Free I was in the same boat looking for one that is completely waterproof. It was between this one and the banded one. This is more room than I need, but it seems to have more options than the banded one. It's got a lot of features for the price point.

I've had drake bags, academy bags, cabelas bags, northern flight cabela's bags, all the bags except Sitka. None, I repeat, none, are entirely waterproof. We would ruck gear in to public land and it would sit in anywhere from none to 6 inches of water, heavy rains, and snow two or three times a week.

I ended up with this: http://tanglefree.com/product/ultima...efree-backpack

Not entirely waterproof, but strong bag and has a base that has a lining to help fight the water soakage.

I have really like this bag. Keeps my stanley canteen well too!

I haven't got to put mine in use yet. I bought it at the end of the season last year when it went on sale. Hopefully it will keep a majority of the water out..

Get a backpack style bag and pack in a smaller "blind bag" I use the Banded roll up bag and have been fairly satisfied with it as I can pack in a higdon swimmer and two mojos in one pack along with calls, shells, etc. but dang it gets heavy and you have to be careful about water getting into the top. If I were buying another I would be looking at the drake bags that are zippered with pockets.

I think its been the best so far. I'm gonna spray mine down this year with a waterproofing agent and maybe rubber coat the bottom where the liner is.

it only failed when I set it on a bed of smashed reeds and it basically was floating.

I've always used Avery blind bags and have never been disappointed.

Problem with backpack style bags when walking in is typically you are already carrying decoys on your back. Makes it tough to carry both.

Has anyone tried one of the drake swamp sole backpacks?

Oh and when I said I needed a waterproof bag I meant at least the bottom. I know the sides of most bags will eventually let water in.

I think I have tried every bag there is. The problem I found is most get filled with too much stuff and become very heavy and burdensome. If you are walking in, the best thing I have found is to buy a dove vest large enough to fit over your jacket. Fill it with your shells, strap, calls, face masks gloves and flashlight, etc. As long as you get the right fitting vest, it will work like a charm. Good luck!

I use the ultimate backpack from Tanglefree. Then I stuff it full of my regular blind bags, rain gear, etc, etc. You can haul a whole lot in that pack. Its more like a duffle bag with a whole of of pockets and pack straps.
