Question about storage buildings on the coast

I need something I can put together myself and transport materials by boat, so looking at the cheap metal or vinyl coated metal storage buildings. It's going on an island, so constant exposure to salty humid weather. Wondering if I'm wasting my time with these if they'll be eaten by rust in no time or if something like the vinyl coating will help it last a while. I don't really have the skills to flat out fabricate a building, if I did I'd be building myself a cabin instead. Any better options?

Doesn't just about any metal rust out down there? Sounds like a good idea tho, but I'm no help

        Hardy plank and 2x4s?
It's take a few extra trips, but wouldn't rust out if using galvanized screws.

Metal will rust. Coatings just delay the rust a LITTLE BIT

Anything will rust down here. Galvanized just delays it. Stainless steel screws will last longer.

I guess what I'm asking is if a cheap $500 storage shed will last long enough to make it worth the effort or should I spend a bunch more $ and effort to do something different.

Go to Lowes and buy one of the plastic/rubber storage sheds. I got a 6 x 8 x 6 ft high for around $500.....never rust again.

Is that the vinyl coated steel or is the whole thing actually made of plastic/rubber? I didn't see plastic buildings but I didn't specificallylook for them.

I have a place in Sargent. Everything that can rust will rust. And the wind will blow twice as hard as you think it possibly can. Hardi board works great for sheds. But it's all worth the trouble to me. Good luck.
