This is at my jobsite, some smashed it earlier this morning, but guys were saying it was a Copperhead. I said no freaking way. Looking at the eye tells me it is NON venomous. I said it was a bearded clam snake and a couple ppl believed me, lmao!!

That is a dead rat snake. The bearded clam snake is generally shorter and stubbier.

Exact same snake - 4 1/2" feet long - was in my yard yesterday. Dead. No idea what killed it (no obvious trauma).

i realize some people just do not know any kind of snake, but rat snakes do not look like copperheads,
