    Let's talk espresso

Unfortunately, I don't have a local coffee shop in League City. So Im on a quest to get a good cup of espresso(cappuccino).

I have used the stovetop espresso maker but its not the same.
K cups taste like crap. The Nespresso is okay.

What kind of machines do yall use? Any recommendation before a drop a bunch of money on one?

I use a legit espresso maker. Breville is the brand, Id have to look up the model number but it does the job as good as it can be done.

Edit. Oh and it has worked non stop since I bought it in 2006 with zero issues.

I've taken to making Turkish coffee. In part because I like it. In part because it's easier than espresso.

      Here are some directions: http://www.turkishcoffeeworld.com/Ho...offee-s/54.htm

Moorish or Moroccan coffee is also good: http://moroccanfood.about.com/od/tea...e_espresso.htm

Turkish for the win. I sold my espresso machine once I got hooked.

my 1st espresso machine was a $100 DeLonghi (molded plastic) and it worked fine.
Because of the small water reservoir , I bought a Breville 3 yrs ago and am very pleased.
Although the Breville is not an industrial/commercial machine, it gets used 3-5 times a week and has a much larger water reservoir.

I highly recommend buying whole beans and a quality coffee grinder. I have the Cuisinart which is priced at $49 right now at Overstock.com http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden...WI&searchidx=7

I also make iced coffee using the Toddy

I have the above grinder already. I stopped doing drip coffee a few years ago. French press all the way.

Good to hear the Breville works well.

Can you get enough pressure to actually make espresso?

FYI, starbucks has announced yet another increase to come out this week. Another 30 cents average per drink. Wow!
