I am so glad she is alright! My stepdad years ago had a shovel come through his windshield, scary stuff. Everybody that uses a 2x12 or similar for a trailer tailgate make sure it's secured in someway.

wow so glad she is still here. My 50yr old neighbor passed away last year in a similar accident when a large metal oilfield related valve fell off the back of a truck and came through his windshield and hit him square in the face. Such a tragedy of an accident and a reminder to please make sure you strap or contain items when you are hauling ANYTHING

Glad she's okay, that's always a problem in Houston. I ran over a 4x4x8 that fell off a big rig bent both front rims destroyed the tires...

Few years ago on I45 South of Houston a steel bar went thru a windshield killed the women driver almost decapitated her, driver of the big rig was never caught

Definitely lucky it didn't hit her. I guess I didn't realize how often things like that happen. Seems to be a fairly common thing. I've almost had a tire hit me after coming off of a trailer before but that's sort of a different deal.

                Thank God she's ok.
I saw a sheet of plywood come off a car's roof once and spin like a frisbee away from the road but never heard of objects commonly coming through the windshield.

I watched the front half of a hacksaw come flying over a concrete highway divider and stick into the grill of my truck, looked like a boomerang.
1 foot higher and it would have been bad.

Glad your grand daughter is going to be ok!
