    Duramax typewriter tick?

First please dont turn This into a brand loyalty ford/dodge/chevy thing. Has Anyone heard of this ticking sound? Changed the engine oil for the first time in my 2016 and noticed it right away. Did some research and it appears to be fairly common but it does annoy me. Apparently it has been happening for years. Anyone had any personal experience with this? Thanks

My 2012 3500 work truck had the same tick. Company got rid of it at 180,000 miles. No problems out of it

This noise is really inconsistent and not loud. I noticed it right away but my uncle couldnt hear it. I am OCD so it bothers me but I still love the truck. GM put out some type of memo i found on the internet saying it will cause no harm, but was just wondering about others experiences

I went with the recommended 15w40. I am really not concerned after doing research. Just a little disappointed

My early model 07 has been producing that sound since almost new. I asked the dealer and they of course told me it is normal and produced a bulletin write up. I guess they were right because I am approaching 160,000 miles and I have dragged my 5th wheel all over Colorado and New Mexico almost every year since I had the truck. Last year I pulled the 5th wheel and a 12 foot trailer with my Teryx4 seater behind the 5th wheel.

Completely normal.. My 2011 has been doing it since almost new and I'm around 140k now

Hope you get it figured out since it's a new truck. I would fight the dealer as much as possible and not let them off the hook easily. Even if it's "normal" it would annoy the heck out of me.

The ford 6.7l can have the same issue, nothing to worry about

Get some Lucas diesel injector cleaner and put in the fuel tank . I put it in mine around every 10 tanks of fuel and at 526000 miles I'm still running the original pump and injectors so I know that it works.
