    Handgun/Pistol Hunting, Anyone have Success?

I searched a few different keywords and couldn't find a handgun hunt collection. I have seen threads by splitbeam.. with a 44mag success, tacticalcowboy with a .40 and 150class with a 10mm take a monster aoudad. Anyone else have success or interested in handgun hunting? I'll start here...

Got this nice little doe axis over the holiday weekend with my Model 19 .357 (purchased from a TBH'er). I carry it all the time at our lease with 4 hollowpoints and 2 .38 rat shots in it. I've been really wanting to get a pig with it, but this is even better.

I've killed a handful of hogs with an 8" Colt's Python. It's been a while, though.

I use a 10 1/2 inch Ruger Superblackhawk on occasion.

I don't have any pics but I've taken several deer with my .44 Mag and .454 Casull.

How far away was she? I have the same gun and have wanted to take a deer or hog with it.

About 20 some odd years ago I shot an alligator with my S&W model 29. I put my buddy in my bow stand with it and he shot a doe. I have those pictures in a box somewhere.

For many years, on and off, I hunted with handguns. Smith 29 .44 Mag., Ruger Blackhawk in .45 Colt, Smith 57 .41 Mag., Glock Model 20 10mm, and TCs in .375 Win. And .260 Rem. Killed stuff with all of them, mostly deer. But the one that started it all was the Smith Model 53 in .22 Jet. I carried that gun in the woods more than all the others put together. Bought it when I was 16 with the first money I ever made. It accounted for lots of squirrels, rabbits, armadillos, and a multitude of snakes, mostly using the .22 rimfire inserts. Like the fool I am, I traded it off and only wished 10,000 times that I still had it. I gave $91.14 for it at Higginbotham-Pearlstone hardware in Dallas. They now fetch from $750 to $1250.

My son nailed a WT doe with his 9mm. Dropped her in her tracks.

Have not killed anything yet but I bought a 6" GP100 in .357 just for this. Pistol hunting looks like a ton of fun.

Have had much success with the Super Blackhawk 44mag. Have also killed hogs with Super Redhawk. And plenty of squirrels and other critters with the Browning Buckmark
