    Basic/advanced emt courses?

Is there any where I could take some basic/advanced EMT courses? Situations at the deer lease or wreck in bfe etc? What should one be prepared to pay for that? Any recommendations?? Also if anyone here is an instructor who puts on classes shoot me a pm, might try and get a group from the lease together for private class.

    Basic/advanced emt courses?

I looked at all the available programs in my area and the community college was by far the most cost effective. This is a good breakdown of the costs.

I am a Flight Medic Firefighter and I have a really good friend that teaches wilderness survival and "first aide" classes for your purposes. I def wouldn't say you need to go to EMT-Basic for the deer lease unless you are really determined to learn to splint and apply O2. The wilderness survival class I believe is more of what your looking for and not 3 months of college night class. If you want I can talk to him about prices etc.,

          What he said...
Also most CC programs require prereq courses now. There is also probably a wait to get into emt class.

Look into the Basic EMT program at EMTS. Classes are given at TX State campus in RR. No bs pre reqs like ACC and its a great program. All instructors are local Paramedics and FFs.

EMTS Academy, EMT, AEMT, Paramedic, Texas, Flight RN to Paramedic, Nurse to Paramedic,

You might look at this site.
I have no idea what it cost because our FD pays for it. But it has many of the basics you would need for trauma, medical emergencies. Basically anything a basic emt needs to know

As said above, if you just want to know basic first aid stuff, don't take an emt course. Look for a cpr/first aid course in your area. It's usually a weekend type deal. An emt course is usually a few months Long, more money, and requires you to do a lot more than what you're looking for.

I think the red cross still gives basic first aid classes.

Ok so maybe EMT was the wrong word. However doesn't EMT stand for emergency medical training??? Eh dif topic.

Anyway looking for something that will help at deer lease and when pulling up to/being first in scene for an accident. Maybe more of a wilderness survival but geared towards the medical side of it

EMT = Emergency Medical Technician. To go into way to much detail, the general levels are...
                            EMT-B (Basic)
                            EMT-I (Intermediate)
                            Paramedic (Certified or Licensed)

As others have said, Wilderness First Aid/First Responder courses are probably a better bet for what you're looking for. NOLS teaches a bunch of them through their Wilderness Medical Institute. I've taken several of them and have always found them to be very well done.

With 30+ years of wilderness medicine education, NOLS offers certification courses to equip you with the skills needed to respond in remote medical scenarios.
