    Graham TX

Looking for some info from you TBH's who live in Graham. My wife got a job offer & we are very seriously thinking of moving there. Just was wondering how the schools are...etc. I have hunted in the area for about 7years, know some people out there but just looking for some fresh opinions. Also if you know anyone hiring a A/C tech let me know.
    Thanks for any info

I would move to Graham in a heartbeat if I could make as much money there as I do in Abilene. PK is a stone throw away and I love that lake. If it is financially feasible do it. I don't know about the schools but I have met some good people in that area.

i have a couple of accounts that i call on out there.....it's a nice town, but there's not much to do out there. if you're content with living the "simple life", it's a great place, and the drive into fort worth is not terrible. and the quality of people as a whole seems to be pretty good..breast of luck to you! I love Graham, I'd live there in a minute if my job would let me. Not much to do, but they have just recently opened a Montana's there, so at least you can get a burger and a beer.

I know a guy who catches some dang nice bass outta lake Graham too.

Graham is a great town! I bought 120 acres up there a year ago. Nice people,PK lake close by,Wildcatter Ranch for a steak dinner,Marlene's for Saturday breakfast.
Believe the schools are good,Parents I have meet there are involved with the school. That always seems to make the difference.

IMO its a great place. I have lived here all of my life barring college and a couple years spent in Fort Worth. Local economy is good and schools are great. Our HS is getting a major facelift right now.

Don't hold that against us. Graham's a great place to be. I was born and raised here. Moved to the metro-mess in '88 and boy what a change that was! We've been back home now for about 8 years and I don't plan on leaving again.

Schools do have a lot of parent involvement and I think that's great. The football team is growing again and regaining some confidence. Last years varsity was full of seniors. Town folk are great people to get to know. It's one of those places that while you grow up making friends, they are "true" friends that'll be there forever whether near or far away.

Montana's???? Yeah it's ok, but I'd rather have my burger from Burger's/Billiards, Bass Hollow, or Fox Hollow. I prefer the Dairy King over the Dairy Queen and then there's Marlene's as was mentioned and also the Dinner Bell and the K&N Rootbeer Stand.

Don't forget that not only do we have the walk-in theater, but we also have a Drive-in Theater too! The Drive-in's are becoming a rare thing to find.

Once people figure out who your kid belongs to......they won't get away with much. People don't mind on keeping their eye on the youngsters as they grow, and if that means that mom/dad need a phone call....then that's what they'll get.

Not much to do? If you're involved in your kids activities, you won't have to worry about that. You can fish @ PK, Lake Eddleman, or Lake Graham, canoe the Brazos, hike/wade the Brazos, Hunt??? better know someone or have a lease though.....except on the Brazos and also below the dam @ PK. Various events are held out at the Arena that can be enjoyed. I'm sure you can find plenty to do here if you just open your eyes.

Give me a shout when you hit town......I'll buy you a tall cold frosty oldfashioned rootbeer at the K&N.

Drop by Marlene's and introduce yourself the next time you're in Graham. We've been here 9 years, don't have kids in school, but can't imagine living anywhere else.

I'd rather have my burger with a beer! And Bass Hollow and Fox Hollow are not exactly IN Graham. Dairy King is good, and Marlene's is great! Where is the Dinner Bell, and the drive in?

                          I love Graham.

Schools are GREAT! I may be biased since my wife is a teacher here! There are Christian pre-schools at a couple of the churches. Kindergarten and first grade are at one school (brand new campus). second & third grade are at a campus (newly added onto and remodeld) fourth & fifth grade are at one campus. sixth and & seventh grade are at the junior high, and high school is 9-12 grades. We just passed a $30,000,000 school bond last year and are in the process of remodeling and adding a BUNCH on to the high school facilities, including the football field, gym, and adding a huge girls softball field to match the boys huge baseball field. Ecomony is great and the town is growing a very rapid pace. I don't know that you could find a better small town to live in, in the northern half of Texas. We love it here! and as mentioned above, PK is only 10 minutes from the south side of town. there is your summer acitivities and there is plenty of hunting around this area (there is your winter activities). We also have a very nice country club with one of the top rated 9 hole courses in the state. I have played LOTS of golf courses, and the greens at Graham Country Club are THE BEST I have ever played on other than Colonial Country Club.

I have lived in Graham almost my whole life. It's great here, in many ways. The school is growing as I type, we are building and adding on to the high school for more renovated upgrades.

The school itself is great, Graham is one of those small towns wehre everyone knows just about everyone.

Hope everything works out for the best of you and your family.
