There used to be a few who hung out on Business 59 next the the old bus station, just south of the feed store where the road splits. Not sure if they still do, I haven't lived there in 6+ years, but it's worth a shot

I will just stop by that labor union in Polk County and pick up a truckload of union journeyman ranch hand guys who will bust their arse in this heat for $10 an hour.

Paperwork should only take a couple hours, safety orientation another hour, then I can be on my way, once lunch menu, breaks, and grievance process is explained and everyone signs off on it.
It's not just you but we have to stop somewhere. If we don't than we're just a part of the problem we complain about.

The only white and blacks i see are on the corner pan handling, don't ever recall seeing hispanics, they maybe illegal or not but they will give you a full day of work for fair treatment.

If there is a Workforce Center in the area you can find Americans that are registered for day labor.

good luck hiring illegals for $10 an hour, around here they wont get in the bed of a truck for less than $25 a day, with their $18 helper.

Good deal. When I was out of work I registered at the one in Weatherford. It's usually older folks looking for someone to trim trees or clean out barns and garages. Now that I'm starting to get limited in what I can do I find it's a great place to hire those in need.

At that rate it's just a little over $5 an hour for the two based on 8 hours.
