    Typhoon Texas Waterpark in Katy

Has anyone been yet? Comments? I am taking the kids up tomorrow to check it out.

My 14yr old went and said it was nice but geared more to little ones. Take water shoes as the concrete is INSANELY hot! It is one of the biggest issues with the park.

My wife took are 9 year old a few weeks ago. They liked it enough to buy season passes. They are there now actually.

I read some reviews and the hot concrete was brought up. We had Splashtown season tickets for the last few years and it couldn't be any cooler there. Will hit Academy for some new treads tonight.

Other complaints were the high food prices and the long wait times in lines. No way!!!!

I guess it was their first time to go to an amusement park.

We will get there 30-45 minutes before they open and get in line. Get inside and knock out all the good stuff first while its not too crowded.

I have not made it personally but my 9 and 11yr old have been every week since the summer started for Summer Camp. They have had nothing bad to say about it except some of the lines are too long. They were instructed to take water shoes at the beginning so no issues there.

We have season tickets and live about 5 min away. We've been 4x and if it weren't 5 min away I wouldn't bother. Slides are okay but 30min+ waits for 2s ride...
My biggest complaint is they don't have any sitting areas along the lazy river for people watching. I'm hoping to get money's worth a few hours at a time

My girls and I just got back from there.

We've had season tickets to Splashtown in Spring for the last 4 years and opted not to get them this year to try this place out because we have 2 beach vacations planned soon.

It opened today @ 10:30. We got there @ 9:45 and got into a 40 person deep line. At 10 they started selling admissions. $50 a head but it is a holiday weekend rate. No big deal. Our usual MO when going to places like this: get in early, hammer the good rides a few times before the masses come, eat some grub and chill in the wave pool & lazy river till they are gassed and hit the road. We did the same today.

I read some Yelp reviews about the place last week. Half were positive, the other half were negative. Unfortunately 40% of the negatives were dead on.

I hope they use some/all the revenue they make this summer on fixing up things for next year or else people will travel to Galveston or Spring for water park fun.
