Outboard mechanic needed

Anyone on here an outboard mechanic? Have a 2000 Yamaha 50 2stroke I need to get looked at. Cleaned carbs and boat is still bogging down pretty bad

Clean them again. Chemtool soak. Fresh gas.

Just to make sure when the engine bogs hit the choke and see if it picks up. If so you still have a fuel problem.

And/or pump the bulb and make sure you don't have a fuel pump problem.

This motor does not have a choke. Fuel pump is good

If it is a two stroke Yamaha it has either a choke or a primer valve that you can open. Either of which is operated by pushing the key in. You can also choke the throat of the carb down with your hand to mimic a choke.

I figure you have already checked but what about the fuel filter?

This^. Just got done rebuilding my dad's carb on his 40 hp mercury today. Low speed jet was clogged.

Where do you live? Have you replaced your fuel lines with the new ethanol free material. Is your bulb hard when running.

I have a 2001 40 Yamaha and I have done 90 % of all maintenance myself.

Oil tank over half full? Was running mine this week to put fresh fuel through carbs and dropped from 4500 to 2500. Checked oil tank and it was low so the SAFE mode kicked in. Added oil and ran fine thereafter. Good Luck and treat dat fuel!

I am in Laporte. Boat is at my dads shop at 146 and spencer where I keep boat

Fuel lines are all new filters new. Prime bulb stays hard

I have 2 options. I really like Meeks marine. I also have a mechanic at hwy 3 and 146 named Patrick that is really good.
