    LTC.........angry man

So last Monday I am headed to work. I am in my "jurisdiction bounds" and at a 4 way stop sign.

I am 3rd in line and everything is going smoothly. Then comes an older male and runs the stop sign, right as I proceed into the intersection. He is screaming bloody obscenities at me and gives me the high middle finger as a wave.

My unit is completely dark, including limo window tint. He can't see me and my light bar is not visible either. I conduct a traffic stop. He has the deer in the headlight look when he realizes what has just happened.

He is apologetic, but only because i'm a cop. Anyhow I run his DL and sure nuff he is LTC, which he states he does not have his handgun on him. I advise him my biggest concern is his demeanor to which he states "Officer I get tired of all this effin people! this is yaddy yaddy yaw etc!!!" I then tell him politely, that is what concerns me and I let him go on his way and wish him well (no ticket). I honestly still don't think he caught my hints.

I talk to my wife and two daughters about it. Just gave them a heads up to be careful with everyone. My youngest who was screamed and chased on the loop a while back says "I would hope that guy would be more level headed dad".

Before the band wagon starts.................yeah cops have, will and do lose their cool as well. Carry on, get it carry on???? Nevermind............

Good call . Maybe when he has time to sit and think a bit, the memory will come back. And he'll reconsider his demeanor.

      #whatwouldJesusdo?

      Carry on.

Mayb a fat fine would change his demeanor ? Probably not, but he deserved it !

I wish I could hand them out sometimes, as I have zero patience with a-holes who think the streets and highways are theirs alone.

He was mad because he believed I had taken "his turn" at the 4 stop. I think he was already angry prior to this encounter, that is what worries me even more.

I have a friend who has displayed one heck of a temper a couple of times. He recently got his LTC, and it worries me.

My neighbor is LTC. He is a DB that scaped two federal indictments/prosecutions by becoming the snitch in both rings. One for drug distribution the other for theft ring of vehicles. He admitted he was a heavy coke user but of course no felony convictions on his record. A couple of years ago he and another driver exchanged "words" on the road about overtaking/passing.

He told me they came to a stop and the other guy flipped him off. He gets out of the truck, gun in hand, and begins to walk back towards the guy in the truck. The other guy gets scared jumps a curb and gone. He told me this story along with he was justified because he "felt threatened". Mind you he is my current neighbor. I really do NOT think that is what the LTC teaches and I hope I am correct. SMH.......................

A couple of times I have been in unmarked units when that has happened.

It is a Kodak moment when the pretty twinkly lights hit them. I've seen people almost cry and grovel when they realize what was about to happen.

What made me mad was not what they did but who they thought they were doing it to. One time a couple of guys had an entire intersection blocked with two vehicles in a not so nice neighborhood at night and yelled for us to go around the block with a few choice words. Some poor woman would have been terrorized and they didn't care.... until we stepped out in uniform.

I used to be that guy (sometimes).
A little white pill helps tremendously.

I was grocery shopping on my of day, walked out of the grocery store into the parking lot. Just then a jacked up black 4WD truck blasts by at 30+mph cutting thru the parking lot. I yelled at him to slow down as he passed by at six feet.

He slammed on the brakes and spun the tires backing up. Window down he asked what I said. I told him I said "slow down". He said he'd whip my butt. I put my groceries down and said "get out". He said what for. I told him he couldn't whip my butt while still in the truck, now shut yer mouth and get out. Punk about 18 and pretty big. He spun off , giving me the finger.

Two days later I see him near the store, as I look he runs the stop sign right in front of me. I pull him over and walk up to the door asking for license and registration. License is expired and no current registration. I give him those two tickets and running a stop sign...and tell him to have a nice day.

Next day a friends girlfriend come by the house, turns out kid is hers. I tell her no help from me here. Sorry.
