Well a buddy of mine works at a hardware sales distributor and they were redoing the shop and we're just going to trash these old bolt bins, then I stepped in and took two off their hands. I have a couple questions though for you guys. I plan to make it a duel purpose corn slinger and protein feeder so I welded up some 1/4" plate that I'll bolt the separate attachments too. But I'm curious do y'all think a deer will stick his head between the uprights, roughly 28-30" apart? And also how much of a drop would y'all make the feeder tube? I know it needs to be about 28-30" off the ground but how much distance do y'all put between the base of the feeder and the base of the protein tube.
Edit: I'll be either welding or bolting 2 and 3/8ths tubing inside the channel to raise the overall height of the feeder. I'm curious if you guys think a deer will stick his head between those members or I need to find a way to run the legs out at an angle. Also by know how long I need to leave the downspout I'll know how much pipe I need to add to each side.
