Good time to hunt scrapes is right after it quits raining.Seems the bucks want to make the rounds and freshen them.

I had an ole timer tell me once to hunt a scrape when I found it, he said to never leave it until I seen a buck work it and it worked and has continued to work. I have a very good friend of mine that is a wildlife biologist and I ask about the validity of this or was it just a freak thing that turned out to my favor each time, his response was that if you find a scrape hunt it, that there is a buck in the area and that is not the only scrape he works. The bucks travel their scrape lines and there is no set time on their visit. I will take it a step further, he also told me if I would not think he has totally lost his mind to go ahead and urinate in it when I go in and he guranteed that I would see that scrape grow in size before me, trust me it works. I did this and the buck was set on proving his dominance.Last edited by rackhunter; 11-06-2008, 08:26 PM.

I have pic's from a scrape i found at the end of season last year and got about 5 different bucks working it in the daylight, a lot of times in the middle of the day.I also will put human urine in it.The scrape i found last year they are working again this year and i have poured urine in it and it is now about the size of the hood of my truck.I will be hunting very close to it real soon but not right over it.
