    Educate me on Go Pro?

What do you use it for if you have one?

I had a VERY cheap front windshield mount camera until I changed vehicles, put it in storage and it's dead. It was used to record front and back conditions when taking clients out to see land....originally thought it would help document if we had problems on tours...terrain, deer running in front of me driving, etc.

So..am I totally off base with this question? I have NO idea what they are really used for and if this would fit what I want it to do. Also curious about other applications the GS have used it for?

    Thanks in advance....

I have only used mine for fishing and riding dirtbikes. Mount on the windshield of the bass boat and mount underneath the visor of my helmet! Lots of fun. If I make it back to South Dakota pheasant hunting I will mount it on my shotgun.

Pretty cool piece of equipment. If you get a newer on with blue tooth other than range your options for use are endless

I use mine on shotgun for bird hunting and use it for when bow hunting. It would work well for what you are wanting to do with it, but my battery only lasts about 2 or so hours.

          Go pro set up
We found an EEEKit online that was way cheaper than go pro and works really well.
Batteries. Buy Wasabi Power batteries. Cheaper and better than the go pro expensive ones. On Amazon.

          SD HD card.
          All new
Get 64 gig right away. Will shoot from 6-8.5 hours. Get a scandisk ultra or extreme card. They really take a beating. Class 10 card. This is the transfer rate. It's High speed and will transfer quality video.
Simple suction cup mount w rope/lanYard and clip to keep it safe.

I use a Cobra dashcam for what you are describing. Takes fantastic HD video and records continuously with an automatic over-write (also at half the price of a Go Pro). I have a Hero 4 Silver Go Pro but I dont think it will automatically over-write the oldest file on the card when the card gets full. I think you would have to manually delete files to open up space but I may be wrong.

I bought one for the various outdoors activities. I mounted it to my stabilizer on my bow hunting Amistad all year last year. Every time I got a shot opportunity I completely forgot all about the stupid camera and never hit the button. It's been in my dresser drawer every since.

I just got a "used" gopro hero3 black edition. I've used it on my boat to video tubing and wake boarding. Rigged a mount to use during archery hunting and will be using it for my atv trip in Utah and our motorcycle adventure in New Zealand. So far it's a cool toy but I could see where like most toys it will become more of a pain in the a** and eventually left on shelf. Lol. But it helps others see what your adventure was like. Paid $250 for camera and extra batteries and a handful of mounts. "Craigslist"

Just like Yeti coolers, there are a lot of competitors selling cameras with the same functions and resolution for $100 or less. GoPro has exception customer service for $500. A very wide angle lens, it is designed Ed as an action camera where it gets your skis going down the mountain, or whatever action event you are doing. The fish bowl wide angle lens is poor for taking photos 10 yards away. Battery life only a few hours. Definitely neat cameras, but there are other options that do just as good. With any electronics, technology changes so fast and gets cheaper.

I'm currently using the Hero Session 4 here in Jamaica. Comes waterproof as is up to 33' and you can get a case to extend that range. You can control it from your phone or from the camera itself.

Wife and I scuba dove with it this morning as well as snorkeled yesterday with it. Great picture quality with lots of extra options built in.

Battery life would hurt your ability in a vehicle. I would look into some of the cameras that continuously record and plug into a cigarette lighter. You choose whether or not to save something so it can always run.

I use the sony version action cam. I use it on my helmet for motovlogging and insurance purpose in case of accident. It's also nice to have on trips in case something cool or interesting comes up.
