    Anyone have a Cajun Fryer?

Im in the market for a quality fryer these days and I am really looking hard at these. I like the 4 gallon two basket style for my needs. Do any of you guys have something like this? I really like the idea of how easy it is to save the oil with these fryers since they have a low and high drain. Now im cooking with a nice double fryer and cast iron, but its always a major mess to clean up. Any thoughts?

I have the 12 gallon Cajun Fryer. They're worth every penny.

They cook much faster due to volume of oil and less recovery time when putting in cold food. Worth every penny and work as advertised. Look on meatprocessingproducts.com they have a stainless version cheaper than the carbon steel rv product.

Another note. A two basket 4 gallon is about all one man can keep up with if breading fish or oysters.

Team Fish Head has been using them at Bownanza for the past several years. Worth every penny! Last year we used a 2 basket and a 3 basket. And have been using a 3 basket for quite a few years now. One of our members says the bast way to clean after drain and use is to go by the car wash. You do have to keep an eye on the temp. As putting to much fish in at a time will cause the oil temp to drop. And slows the cook time down. But other than that, it makes short work when your cooking 65-100lbs of fillets.

Edit: the 3 basket is an 8.5 gallon cooker.

I just got a 4 gal 2 basket one for the guys at the shop. It made short work of about 10lb of crappie filets. I have no complaints.

Thanks for all the input guys, I think they sell them at Bucees so I may run to Terrell and grab me one.

As for oil, I found a mixed frying oil on sale at Atwoods for $6.00 an gallon jug and $13.00 for a 3 gallon jug this week, on sale of course.

I just looked at that site and they only show having the bayou brand cookers.

Peanut oil. Doesn't burn like the other oils do. So it can be reused time and again. Just add more as needed after each fry. Course it's a little more expensive. And gonna need filtering when being poured back into it's container after cooling. Any oil will. But again, it doesn't burn like others oils do. And doesn't need to be "thrown out" after each use.

Just make sure all your "eaters" know it's been cooked in peanut oil. So there is no allergic reaction to food sensitive folks . We had one TBHer at Bownanza last year that is food sensitive. So we cooked a special batch of fish and puppies just for that crowd.
