      Steak:

Perini's (best steaks you'll eat anywhere - call in a reservation. Get the bread pudding)

      Joe Allen's

      Lytle Land & Cattle

      Copper Creek

      Al's Mesquite Grill

      Barbeque:

Sharon's BBQ (best BBQ in town, since Harold's closed down)

      Joe Allen's

      Stillwater

      Al's Mesquite Grill

Betty Rose's (good, but not as good as the others, in my opinion)

      Mexican Food:

      Miguel's (fancy place, great food)

Oscar's (not fancy, good ol' Tex Mex)

El Fenix (not the big city chain, local that's been around forever, great food)

      Home Cookin':

Belle's Chicken (great food served home style at the table)

      Cracker Barrel

      Cotton Patch

      Fast/Cheap Food:

La Popular (best carne guisada on the planet, I think)

Food Truck Park (different food trucks all the time - always something good) http://www.abi-foodpark.com/

CK Seafood & Grill (get the Charlie Brown Burger with extra bacon - peanut butter inside a hamburger patty with bacon in the meat, and then extra bacon on top - TRUST ME!!!)

      Heff's Burgers

Any of these will be great...all of my favorites! We like Don Luis and Casa Herrera for authentic Mexican also.

Was Harold's the place that had the picnic tables inside and the picture of "Whitey" who was apparently the only white guy to work the pit?

I loved that place. Was back up there recently and couldn't find it. I guess I didn't go far enough north to find it closed. Bummer that it closed.

                  Skeets!

Fariltos and Montereys best Mexican food!

Abuelos is more Tex-Mex but has great queso and good prices.

Muellers is the best BBQ hands down in town.

I like Joe Allens for steaks. Kinda partial to it, been around longer than sharrons and she stole the other from him lol (ex wife)

Harold's BBQ was always a go to when in Abilene. Not sure if mentioned on here but Harold passed away earlier this year, seems like it was April. He had been unhealthy for quite some time and I think he was also a diabetic which added to his health struggles. I have a phone video of him singing Amazing Grace in the restaurant from about 7-8 years ago. Miss Harold and his bbq. His family still makes and sells the sauce he used in the restaurant, they sell it at the lumber store across the street from Harold's restaurant.
