Reds Are Back On The Flats

Well with all the rain and crazy weather finally subsiding, the Reds are back on the flats in good numbers. There was still one large area that had that tea color you get when there is a lot of fresh water mixed in but the rest looked normal. Steady 15 plus mph winds and mostly cloudy skies made seeing and casting to the fish difficult for the first few hours but we got full sun around 1:30 and it was on. Same bait, 4'' soft plastic with 1/4 oz. head. Looking for tags in their backs, STAR Tourney, without luck, but we did manage to hook up with some oversized fish. We are blessed and our freezers are full but we did keep some for a friend for a Fathers Day fish fry, G-Luck and Happy Fathers Day!!

Not sure about these areas or how the fresh water is affecting them. I'm fishing a lot farther South. G-Luck and be safe.

Be careful in those flats. Two cases of vibrio were identified in POC last weekend. Keep all cuts covered and wash up!

If it holds pass the jetty and fish the surf! Mardi Gras sand eels.

Inside the jetty I like the right side about 3/4 way down. Cast netted finger mullet on a circle hook. Kings to reds when the water is right!
