    Peach question?!?!

How much is someone willing to pay for peaches? One of my coaches from high school runs an orchard and was telling me that many coaches sell them during the summer. Was wondering if I bought some from him if I could sell them and make a little bit of profit.

I talked to a guy at a local farmers market that claimed he and his brother and dad made over $20K selling peaches last summer. They did roadside and several markets every week. He wouldn't give me much info other than they sold peaches at the yuppy market in Rice Village for stupid crazy money!

I'm talking to my coach who runs the orchard. He sells to people who make the big bucks like that. I wouldn't plan on going anywhere except roadside. We have a waterpark so our roads are traveled by city folk and I think they would sell.

Ok how much are you willing to pay? 2.5lbs is good for canning but I have no idea on Jelly. He told me that they sale about 10 peaches for $10 which is just over 2lbs

We order 50 pound boxes from Young Life as a fundraiser every year. $50 per box. Shipped from Georgia. I have had Stonewall and Fredericksburg peaches and these GA ones are the largest, juiciest ones we have ever gotten.
Not sure on your market but somewhere around $2-5 per pound for fresh Fredericksburg peaches would probably sell.

This is what I'm being told. I went to a stand yesterday and that was about the price. The box was about the size of a 12pk of beer box and the bottom was the peaches

This is what he gave us

So I wouldn't be that far off. He said that most people double their money from wholesale. I'm literally just thumbing the idea for next year.
