Got laid off in January and my unemployment is about to end in July. Having problems in my area finding and competing for jobs. In 6 months I will be able to draw SSI but until then ?? What? Don't want to lose my house . No one wants to hire older people. Not dead yet.

Asking for prayers for a job.

Some of my last employment has been in parts/warehousing/inventory/procurement of goods. Product assembly in fiber and electrical deep water connectors.
My earlier years was spent in a refinery, natural gas gather systems/pipelines/compressors.

Thanks for all the prayers. GUESS WHAT THEY WORKED !! Got a job today close to home more money than I asked for and something I like to do. Just got to learn a heap of knowledge for a new career. Testimony for all .

I feel your pain. I turned 63 this past May and got my EC-6 Elementary certification in the summer of 2014 and could not get an interview probably because of my age. I could legally teach from First grade to a Senior and could not get an interview. Total BS, but that is the way it is.
You may want to look at possibly substituting or getting a Teaching Assistants job ina a school district that is close until something comes your way. I did this and am now a full fledged Special Education teacher after I got my Special Education certification in the summer of 2015!
God has a plan, I firmly believe this although I never ever attend any church but I believe in God and think myself as a Christian. Keep the faith.
