The thread about the kid hooking the guy in the cheek reminded me of the time my cousin buried 2 of the treble hooks of a Zara Spook in the back of my head, while trying to really step into it and get it to the back of a cove. I made him pull it out with a pair of pliers and he nearly passed out. Unfortunately it was before smart phones and no pics..Lets hear and see some hookups the hard way!

I was riding my bike, carrying my rod, and rode by my Mom. I hear a shriek, get pulled of my bike and see my river runt sticking through my Mom's ear.I told here I saved her on getting it pierced....she was not amused.
My buddy and I, took his girlfriend fishing. She was throwing a rattletrap. She stepped into it and almost jerked my friends head off. It stuck in his ear. He asked me to cut it out.I told him it was going to hurt him worse than me!

When I was 12 or 13 we joined another family at some resort cabins in Arkansas. On their way to the golf course the parents dropped me and the other kid off at a fishing lake. He had no clue how to cast so I gave him some instruction but apparently it didn't take.He was standing about 10 yards down the bank and wound up for a big two-handed sidearm cast. He released late and the big slab spoon he was casting went sideways and hit me in the face like a deer slug. I went to my knees and reached up to find the lure dangling from my face! One hook from the treble had gone between my eyeball and my lower eyelid and sunk past the barb . I bit the line and started looking for help. I flagged down an old guy driving by and he took me to the nearest hospital about 30 minutes away. They pushed the hook through until the barb appeared just above my cheekbone and clipped it. I had a heck of a shiner, a sore eye and had to wear a patch for a week but it could have been much worse!

This barb trick would be nice. But when you have two hooks of the treble, my cousin did it the old fashion way. Pull till it pops...Should have seen his face when he pulled the first time and nothing happened!Last edited by Christianhuff; 06-13-2016, 02:03 PM.

Me, my son and my Dad were fishing on Richland Chambers. After a very nasty squall, the lake slicked over and the largest schools of sandies I have ever seen in my life popped up everywhere around us. I was throwing topwater with a buggywhip spinning rig with 6 lb test. I caught a hook in the top of my head. Barb went through my cap and into my scalp. I had nobody to blame but myself. I was zipping that topwater and light rod so hard, I had hooked myself in the head. The fishing was so good, I just cut the line and tied on a new bait and kept fishing. You gotta make hay when the sun is shining.

Chasing hybrids on squaw creek We would wait for them to surface then run the boat over and throw top waters. On one quick run the rods flew up with the lures at the end. My buddy reacted and stick his hand up to stop the rods. All 6 hooks on one lure and two from another embed in his hand. He couldn't straighten his hand. We ran into the emergency room and got the removed. Fishing was so good we went back a few hours later
