Better there than in the eyelid yes, I suffered that fate when I was about 10-11 years old. We took my brothers girlfriend fishing with us, using cane poles, and she did exactly what the kid in the post did. Overhand toss...the cricket hook snatched my eyelid, and she thought it was hung on a branch behind her, so she tugged NOT a fun experience!!! luckily it went through the eyelid and missed my eye, how I am not sure
