Just got my purple mattress in today.

Won't get to sleep on it till tomorrow morning as I have a night shift tonight.

I went all out and got the best sheets and pillows I could also to complement the mattress so I'll do my best to keep this thread updated with my thoughts on the mattress over the next couple months for those that are considering it or in the process of mattress shopping.

    Initial thoughts-

The bed is a hair firmer than expected but still "plush" and very comfortable. In 1 hour after unwrapping it it had inflated to 8.5" so it had another 1.5 inches to go so I would imagine it will get a little softer as the memory foam expands some more.

The sheets I got and the new pillows are the bee's knee's!

I've been a Walmart/target sheet/pillow guy my entire life and this is the first time I've spent some coin on some nice sheets (Bamboo tranquility) Seen here https://www.amazon.com/Bamboo-Tranqu...ity+bed+sheets

And some nicer pillows Seen here http://www.mattressfirm.com/lux-livi...3.html#start=1

And I will never go back to Walmart again!! Haha

Initial impression on both the sheets and pillows are awesome! They stay very cool which is a absolute must for me as I'm a very hot sleeper.

I'll attempt to touch base around Friday with a update before I go out of town. I've been reading it takes a couple days to transition from bed to bed and on top of being on night shifts I would imagine the sleep will still be a little off since its in the middle of the day but fingers crossed its better overall than before.

Also they offer a 100 day free trail so if its not up to par it can be sent back.

Make sure you read the fine print Mason! If there are stains, they won't take it back

Was out of town this weekend but logged in my first normal night of sleep last night and woke up feeling pretty dang good. didnt have a problem getting out of bed at all this morning for work and don't feel groggy (if that's the right word I'm looking for) at all.

Mattress is still firmer then I expected but it's honesty working out really well. Also never got hot last night which is a huge plus

Will touch base later this week/next week with another update

I have heard noting but good things about the bamboo sheets. I am thinking of investing in some.

All mattresses are not created equal. Same with people's bodies. My last mattress cost me $3500 but I tried out several brands and styles before I found the one I have now. Take your time and test a few. Things I looked for was how easy is it to turn over on and how easy is it to get on and off of. I tried a memory foam and looked like a fish out of water trying to even turn over. Ended up with a quilted top Beauty Rest. A new mattress will take a while to break in and for your body to get used to. The other thing I looked for was instant comfort in my hips and lower back as soon as I laid down. I must have tested a good dozen or more before I found what I could afford and be comfortable with.
The most expensive may not always be the best fit.

I'm in the same boat. I have dropped 30 lbs in the last few months, but every mattress I get seems to get a dip where I lay. I was not that overweight to begin with, but I am a tall guy, and was pushing 260 before the weight loss. My ideal weight is 225 or 215 somewhere in that range. Our mattress we have now is 2 years old and has a huge dip where I lay. I toss and turn, wake up sore and tired. We spent 1500 on this mattress and thought we would be good. I think I am going to go buy a cheap mattress and drop som quan on the thick memory foam topper. Give that a go.

Been on this for about 2-3 weeks now.

Still a hair firmer then expected but not a huge negative surprisingly and it is softer then when I first got it. Read that it takes about 30-40 days to break in so about halfway through that time frame.

Still sleeping better and waking up less then before and stay cool to cold at the same temp I would be uncomfortable in the old bed. Still can't say enough about the sheets and better pillows.

Tranquility Bamboo sheets are the ones I invested in and love them

                            Still like it.

I was 50/50 for awhile but yesterday I went to 2 mattress shops and laid on at least 10-12 beds and still prefer the purple. Don't know how accurate that can be but that's just my preference

Still sleeping very cool and it's breaking in pretty good now

We've made the body dents in every mattress ever bought. I've spent $2500 down to hundreds with the same results. Right now we're on an Ikea cheap mattress which is comfortable. I plan on just buying a mattress every two years or so. We are considering the Casper as I've heard good reviews on them. My last latex bed weighs a ton and was very comfy but those darn dent showed up quickly. Foam is the route we're leaning.
