Now that my 8 acre pasture is dry, I need to spray and kill some weeds and it needs mowing. Do I spray first and then mow or mow and then spray?

Yep that is the route I would go. How many cows do you plan on putting on the 8 acres? I was at the auction yesterday and you can get some good cows for a good price. I know they aren't popular for beed breeds but a Longhorn pair sold for 900 bucks yesterday. I wouldn't mind have some yard ornament like that.

I'll stick to my 15 years of pasture renovation and spray every time. It takes me all day to mow 100 acres but just a few hours to spray. Then I have nothing growing in my pastures competing for fertilizer and water besides grass.

I'm spraying every square inch of the pastures the best I can. We use a 25 gal 4 wheeler mounted sprayer that works well for the rougher terrain but mainly use a large pull behind tank sprayer to cover lots of ground.
