I admire her courage and understand why the family would want to come to America. Immigrants who want to work hard and make a difference are the kind of immigrants we want to come to America. I didn't like her "wall built from hatred and prejudice" comment. Why is it that when we want to stop illegal immigration it has to be because we are prejudice or have hatred? Numerous countries have serious laws concerning illegal immigration yet draw no attention. When the US wants to stop it, all hell breaks loose. I understand the process for here takes a long time(7 years so far in this girls case) but maybe that has to do with all the effort that has to be spent on illegal immigration. I am by no mean an authority on such matters but do know that something has to be done about illegal immigration.

I think she has been living off the govt...people in McKinney ISD are kinda upset. It's a tough issue.

I guess I will never understand the brazeness of the illegal immigrant but the country doesn't enforce our current laws so IDK...

I don't usually speak on political points as I believe they're only opinions and we all have one... But we are a nation of Laws...

So now...Good for her! now I expect to hear she is working with the proper authorities to correct her status as an undocumented immigrant and she believes becoming a legal US Citizen as top priority.

Also, I think Yale should come forward and let every one know this is a foreign scholarship offer and they are working with the proper authorities to make sure this Great Student is legal to accept such a prestigious award.

What are the odds.... I am betting SLIM to NONE this will happen.

Now on my soapbox...

The wall is not being built on Hatred and Prejudice... its needs to be built because there is a exploitation of the American people and there Kindness to the world. If you really believe that America is full of Hatred and Prejudice, then go back to your country of origin and MAKE IT BETTER! Don't try to change something others believe GREAT ALREADY... There have been to many GREAT MEN and WOMEN give there ALL to keep America great and it would a dishonor to them and their memory.

I know this is not the place to spout my opinion... but I have some free time this morning and reading updates... its really blowing my mind what is being said and written and the crap the people are buying into...
