    Electrical help.

I am going to be wiring my building up soon, for 110 outlets, lights, and a few 220 outlets. I will be running a planer, joiner, air compressor, a squirrel cage for air, a porta-cool, and a little cracker box welding machine. Of course grinders, etc. on the outlets. It's not all going to be running at once, the air compressor and welding machine may occasionally run together, the lights and squirrel cage will be running together etc. The building is about 150' -200' from my house, so the wire will be ran underground in conduit for that length. What size sub-panel and wire would I need to use? How about the breakers? I am not going to be tying into the live power, I have an electrician coming out when I get the line ready. I would just like to get all the grunt work done ahead of time to save some money and time. Plus I am paying him in cold beer and bbq. I am pretty sure it's gonna cost me more if he has to do everything.

100a sub panel should be fine. Run 4 wires from the main panel to the sub panel. The 4th wire is for the ground. Separate the grounds and neutrals in the sub panel. Install a ground rod at the sub panel. #4 copper is fine but I would step up to #2 because of the length. Use 1 1/4 pipe

Thanks! I am glad you told me this. I was getting ready to pick up a 60a panel and a 400' roll of wire. I am going to need at least 800' of wire to run 4.
