It's funny because most of these dad's wouldn't let their 6 yeast old boy stay in the car alone by themselves but will give them a pocketknife to carry or have guns and ammo near them unsupervised at all times.

I have 3 girls so maybe I am a little over protective.
When they were toddlers I had the joy of coming back from a family function 5 hours from home when a massive bomb went off in my gut. Not once did I even think of leaving them in the truck when I had to stop to release the beast. I can't remember how many stops either.
The way I saw it is this. If something was to happen to them it would be 100% my fault knowing it was a sketchy move to begin with. At that age they are totally defenseless and I couldn't live with myself if something happened to them just because I was too lazy to take them with me.
That was awhile back though. Now I can't keep them in the truck no matter where I stop.
