First of all my dad was having quadruple bypass on Wednesday morning. Everything went well with his surgery. Although the Dr. could only do 2 bypasses once he was in there.
Back a few months ago my 86 year old Grandmother fell and broke he leg just above the knee. She had to have surgery and has been in a nursing home facility and rehab center. She had a Dr. appointment in San Angelo, same place my dad was having surgery, to determine if she could start walking on her leg now. She was told she was heeled enough to start walking with her walker. The nursing home drove her up to San Angelo in the nursing home van with my Grandma being in a wheelchair. This is where it gets crazy. This is one of the stories that we are being told. They started back to Brady and were just a few blocks away from the nursing home the driver had to slam on the brakes of the van. Some how Grandma falls out of her wheelchair while he slammed on the brakes. The driver takes her to the Brady ER, then they transfer her to San Angelo hospital, same as my dad, we find out she has a broken C2 in her neck, skin peeled off of her forearm and her leg that she broke and had the surgery on, was swollen and bruised. All of this happened while my dad was in heart surgery. So now its me, my uncle and an Aunt at the hospital. This morning they were too put a feeding tube in to my Grandma due to swelling in her neck and not able to eat or drink. But her blood was too thin. They will try again on Monday.
This afternoon I am attending a funeral service for an business owner/friend that I have been doing business with for about 30 years now. Then I am back on my way to Brady then to San Angelo for the weekend to be at the hospital.
Believe me when it rains it pours. Sorry for the long read.
