It is a good course to attend even if not applying for Hagerman, I learned several new things that made me a better (and safer) bowhunter.

This is out of control. Everyone on here jokes about all types of hunting. The H jokes are always this time of the year. The Teal tags are always in September. Hog tags before the extreme hunt.

Hahaha... Teal tags!. That takes me waaaay back to the Texas Refuge forum circa 2001.

It happens. The admin and mods can't control everything said on an open free forum with 20K plus members. If Hagerman can't understand that, they are in for a world of hurt in the future.

This whole thing is ridiculous.
I do feel for the Hagerman staff that they had to put up with calls from people who are too lazy to do their own due diligence.
The staff at Hagerman do a tremendous job of clearly stating the requirements for application for any hunt they have. If somebody cannot understand that then maybe they need to find a 7th grader to help interpret the rules. They are all clearly stated every year for every hunt.
I sure hope nobody took me serious last year and called to ask about the bovine hunt they had planned after I joked around about such a thing happening.
Folks need to quit calling the refuge over BS. Every year it seems multiple folks feel the need to call the refuge the day the draw is done...geeezzz. Chill out folks, the results will not change the next couple days. Wait for the results.
I saw the thread in question and it does not take a rocket scientist to understand from the multiple comments that it was a joke. I sure hope nobody called the refuge today asking about the draw being today and me getting drawn for segment D.
There are no deer at Hagerman or in Oklahoma. Cant we all just get along.

Hard to manage what any individule post on any given day. However if any were already on second or 3rd chances maybe its time for a trip to the cooler..

This is one of those instances when Malicious intent doesn't matter.

What's done is done, and if someone took a joke as the truth and created a problem for TBH, then that's on the poster.

Personally, I would be largely upset with Hagerman as a Biz owner of TBH, a site that does not create original content, and acts just as a conduit for the community to have conversation. The post isn't the responsibility of the owners of the site. (PERIOD)

I know this community is tight knit (as tight knit as 80k? people can be) but facebook doesn't bat an eye when scam posts get thrown around.

They handle the problem and move on, so I wouldn't feel embarrassed so much as impressed that the site has gotten so big that the federal government is naming you individually in a news blast. (where you aren't being indicted )

I'd also check back in a week and see if your rate of sign up for new accounts increased because of the free publicity.

I saw the thread last week, can't remember who started the joking/pulling of the leg. I pretty much knew it was bunk, but wasn't 1005 positive. All I knew is my registration and payment was made early May, so no impact to me.

Over the years I've also tried some "joking" around, I guess between my personality and the interweb, nobody can tell I'm joking, so it's better not to try to be funny- someone will take it the wrong way.

Plus, I didn't want to bring the reminder to the top during the application period.

Drawing new week, and I don't plan on calling to check my draw number!
