I agree. All this rain must have them multiplying like crazy. Walked our lease for less than an hour on Thursday and got tore up by these suckers. At least thirty bites. These little buggers are worse than having poison ivy by a long shot imho.
I was at my aunts in north Arkansas for a couple days. Did some yardwork with boots and jeans on and still got ate up a lil. Havent gotten any yet in texas. Never really do.
I hadn't had a chigger bite in about 9 years but this weekend I got ate up with them weedeating some tall grass. That was after getting attacked by some wasps. Thinking about taking a soak in some bleach to see if it helps. Been using Chiggerex but the relief seems to last just a couple of hours.
I've not been to the lease since March and after reading this I'm scared to go. Those suckers are just plain miserable to get into. Last time I had them they got under my waist band of my underwear and it looked like I had a belt of bites completely around me.
Wife and I went and picked dewberries a few weeks ago and it didn't even cross our minds until I woke up that night itching. I knew immediately what happened. I went in the bathroom and turned on the light and good gosh! I probably had 100+ bites!! Miserable for a solid week. I've never had them that bad before. It was not fun. Needless to say, when I go out in taller grass now, I'm prepared.
