Thanks for help, I will be sure to call my local Herpetologist before asking the green screen. [emoji6]

Regardless of what kind of snake it is, it is dead if it's on our property per the wife's instructions. I was just curious about what kind it was.

          There's more than 4

There's more than 4 types of rattlesnakes alone, then copperheads, water moccasins, and corals

There's like 11 different rattlesnake in Texas with a few of those being subspecies. 3 different subspecies of copperhead. But rattlesnakes are easy to tell what it is. If it has a rattle it's venomous.

Someone in my neighborhood killed a small blacktail rattler. Bummed I didn't get to see it before it was offed.

Yeah that's one people definitely need to learn in Texas. Here in Oklahoma they're legal to catch and everything. Pretty cool snakes. They're generally not as Ill tempered as most of the others. I have a nice skin off of one that's probably about 40 years old. Really pretty snakes.

I just seen you meant Blacktailed Rattler. Which look alot like a Timber/Canebreak. They're not protected as far as I know but the other is. West Texas is where the Blacktailed Rattlesnake are commonly found. East Texas is where the Canebreak is more common.
