First Weekend at the New Lease

    Alright guys,

I have been planning and preparing for months and this is finally the first weekend I get to go to the new Lease in Coleman. Previous guys had it through the end of Turkey season, but it is now ours. Any general advice is appreciated. I'm really excited. First time to ever start fresh and do things the way we want to do them, and this year I am finally prepared with everything I need. Over the course of the year I have gotten a 4 wheeler, a trailer, a camper, built new feeders, new stands. Expensive year..... lol. But hopefully will be well worth it and I'm hoping most of those purchases last for years. Cant tell you how excited I am!! We've been looking hard for 3 years....

    That is awesome. Congratulations.

    My recommendations are:

-Take things slow. Don't get too excited or in a rush and hurt yourself or your equipment. When in doubt, think things through before acting.

    -Be vigilant of venomous snakes.

-Last but most important. Enjoy your time at the new place!

Lol no matter how much you think youre prepared you'll ALWAYS end up with a full truck for every trip to the lease haha.

Not really any big tips for the first trip, I guess just make sure you have extra trimmer line, a freshly sharp chain on the chainsaw, tree pruners, pole saw, gloves and a cooler full of cold beer

I wouldn't put up any permanent stands or feeders for awhile. I would get to know the layout and set up accordingly. Best way to do that is miles and hours walking and driving around observing.

Don't dig in to deep with the setups. Most likely you will be tweaking them next season. Have fun. Have north and south Wind sets. Or if you have to have only one put blind west of feeder. put feeders on interior and access them from exterior. Do not walk right through the thickest part to get to blind. Draw them to you within their comfort zone. Nothing is more important than getting in and out of blind undetected. Good luck.. Should be fine.
