Way out of my price range but for anyone not familiar with Scrappin' Valley this is a real good deal and a great place. If I remember correctly this used to be one of Temple's signature hunting places.

I've heard stories and seen documentaries on Scrappin Valley.
Incredible longleaf pines and a well managed hunting club.

I am a member on this lease and it is much more than a place to hunt big deer for me.
Less than 100 miles from home which allows for many trips throughout the year.
A great group of guys that work together well and a nice place to camp with good fishing also.
You going to share any pictures Chad?

It is, a few of my family members hunted it back years ago on a invite from Temple. I got to hog hunt there one day two years ago. It's a beautiful place!

Last year the tags were not an issue. I killed a 6 1/2 year old cull 7 pt that weighed 195 pounds and 2 does. Passed on my target buck that was a main frame 10 with 4 kickers. Would have killed him on every other place I have hunted. Saw him 5 different hunts and he was close to 140. Let other members know about him and they also passed on him. Wanted to give him a year on protein to see what he does. Last year 3 over 150, 1 over 140 and several in the 130's were taken. Largest was 158 and a bow kill. I averaged seeing 8 deer per hunt. Most members have other places to meat hunt. It is a trophy lease with a family friendly campsite.

Scrappin' Valley and North Boggy Slough (located north west of Lufkin) was where Temple would take customers to wine and dine them. South Boggy Slough was where the upper management of Temple Inland hunted. Back when I work for Temple Inland I use to help guide hunts at Scrappin' when they would get a big group in. Very nice place to hunt and some of the biggest deer I Have seen. I think about all of the good times I had out there ever time I pass by on the way to my camp at Toledo Bend. Wish I had the funds I would be all over it.

29 members, but only 25 bucks allowed so how does it work with the four members left out?

I don't remember ever using all of our buck tags on MLD 3 properties I have hunted . This is a good group of guys and a really cool place to hunt. Hope you find the right guys Chad.

It's simple don't get on if you have to kill a buck every year. If you are only after upper end type deer where you can careless about shooting it would work.
