    Weevil in wood...how to kill

I bought an old work bench to use in my gun room as a cleaning bench.....Probably a 50 something model.....the top has a butcher block style wood that has weevils in it....very cool looking with the little holes etc, but I need to kill them I guess before I move it in?

How do I do that? I'll post pics of it.

    Thanks

I don't know what they are, but you'll probably have to kill the live bugs now and then treat it again in 2 weeks to kill all the bugs that hatch out. There's probably eggs in there too.

I just sprayed it down (drenched) with some good wasp/hornet/bug killer...

Scrub it down with lots of dish soap and hot water every 2 days for about 8-10 washes. Then let dry good and coat with a good varnish.

Wrap it up in 6 mil black poly nice & tight and leave it out in the hot sun for a week or two. The sun and the heat from the poly will kill the little buggers. Kinda time consuming but works like a charm.

I don't have any black poly but what about just a blue tarp wrapped tight and left in the sun?
