One of my son's caught about a 2-3# ladyfish. I thought I'd fillet it out the meat is really mushy. Anyone ever eat one because it doesn't look very appetizing.

Any one every eat ladyfish (skipjack)?

Yes I have. When stationed in Hawaii. It is a delicacy there. The way I ate it was you freeze it for a few days. Then thaw, use a rolling pin to mush it up. Then cut the tail off and roll towards the tail. The meat comes out leaving most of the bones. Then you make a fish cake. It was awesome if I remember correctly. Never ate it again when I got state side.
