Well boys one more bear down tonight. More shooters made appearances tonight but the boys are still holding out for some giants. My good friend and long time hunting buddy shot his first bear tonight and he's pumped. He had a number of color phase bears at the bait but decided in favor of a black. He made a great quartering away shot on the bear and got it done. A rage hypo did the trick. I wish I could post a full resolution video so you guys could see the blood but this video will have to do for now. I sat with another of the guys tonight and had a pretty entertaining night with a sow and three of her cubs. It made for some tense moments when he cubs came to investigate our tree. We're hunting hard until our time to return home comes. We woke up early this morning and a few of us made some morning sits. It paid dividends for a member of our group. After having a nice color phase come in early and wind him a black with a chevron presented a great shot opportunity and he took it! After a short track job he had his bear. Another rage to the cage did the trick!! So another bear on the ground today! 3 down and 2 to go. I will send better pictures later this afternoon when he gets in. Here's a better pic of yesterday's bear.

The action has been hot and heavy. While skinning out our first bear from this morning we get another call with good news from another member of our group. Apparently just a few minutes after he had been dropped off he connected on a beautiful bear. Don't know the details yet but I should have them shortly. They should be back in camp within the hour so pics will follow. In the meantime here are some better pics of the chevron bear!

Another one bites the dust and it's another chevron bear!! Buddy got dropped off mid morning for a LONG hunt and it paid off. Just after being dropped off a beautiful chevron bear came to the bait and the temptation was just too much. He was actually holding or for a color phase bear but his Elite just had to eat!! His Carbon Express Maxima Red tipped with a RamCat did the trick!! No track job required as the bear went up a tree and took the long tumble back down!! His first black bear and his first trip out of Texas to hunt anything!!!

Canada 2016 - It's On!!!

Nope. Nothing this morning. Our last member of the group will be hunting this afternoon then it's off to the airport early in the AM. God willing he gets it done tonight. We haven't even seen a wolf this year. Apparently Dave's trapper got after them pretty hard the last two years and thinned out the population a bit. We're headed out to the Hearts after breakfast to chase some pike

So the whole fishing deal went south today. I think we were on an adrenaline dump. We ended up going into town and doing some shopping. Ended up buying about 10 Patagonia hats and various other things none of us needed!! It's Dave's birthday today so we will be partying all night tonight!! Still have one guy in the stand but it's not looking good!! Nothing yet but he's got another 2 hours in the stand.

Glad you guys had an awesome trip. Hated to miss it. You know my heart is with you but I only have one chance in life to watch my boys try and win a state championship. We won the fourth round today. Region 4 final next week. Have a safe trip home brother. I won't miss the next one.
