TX DPS River Patrol

I watched a special last night on TV about the role of the DPS on the border. I tell you folks those guys are doing an awesome job. They are the only thing between us and a full blown invasion by all kinds of bad things. I have all the respect for the border patrol but they have been told to stand down. Only document and release.
US congressman Louie Gohmert did a tour of the border and talked to some men on the front line. I was really impressed with the DPS river patrol and the massive gun boat they use. Talk about firepower they can bring to the fight if needed. Would kinda of take you back to the Navy PBR "Street Gang" at night on the Mekong Delta.
The Border Patrol have been told not to interdict anything on the river but wait till it arrives on our side then document and release.
The cartel is scared of the river patrol and will not try to cross if they spot the gun boat or DPS patrol.

State Game Wardens patrol down there as well yet have their hands tied just like border patrol.

Why would DPS be allowed to really act while other state agencies are restricted.......or was the whole show you watched propaganda?

I think that DPS started patrolling under Rick Perry and continues under Greg Abbott. This was due to the fact that the federal government will not do their job. If you travel Hwy 77 regularly you will see multiple DPS heading south daily. It's nothing to see 30-40 traveling in pairs heading south every evening from Victoria to Corpus. That's as far south as I make it.

Hmmm let's see US border patrol ran by the federal government taking orders from Obummer, or TEXAS department of public safety ran by the State of Texas and Gov Abbot. I think I found the problem.

Its really not that simple. What would you like the Border Patrol to do to them? If they start sending them to US Prisons then folks would complain about that. "my tax dollars going to housing illegals". I don't have the answer but I'd like to hear yours.

As I mentioned above, the Texas Game Wardens on the same patrols are as limited as the Border Patrol. If who gives the orders made that much difference Why would that be?

I think the DPS stuff is all for show, they are there just like the other agencies but not doing anything more than the rest of them.

I seen one of their boats just North of Victoria heading South on HWY 77 on Wednesday. Not sure what it was doing up there. I have also seen them in POC on several occasions.
