I will just leave it at this, so far, my experience has been unpleasant.

I practically live at either the Temple, Dallas or Austin VA's. I guess some of you would say I am lucky, because I have had nothing but very good experiences with the VA. I travel to Dallas because the Dallas VA has some of the best Neuro surgeons for MS in the country. My primary at Temple is a very good family doctor that is also a neurologist.
I have learned that you do not go into the VA demanding attention you have to have patience, and the time it takes to be seen. Although all of my appointments are scheduled I always take the day off because you just never know how long it will take.
I would like to pass along something that was told to me once at the Dallas VA as I had been waiting for over 3 hours for a routine scheduled surgery. The orderly came in and apologized by saying Chief we are sorry for taking so long but every patient that walks through the front doors of the VA is a hero and unfortunately there was a hero that needed your surgeon a little bit more than you. Every time I am in a long line at the VA I always tell my self that all of those Veterans in front of me are Heroes and I just have to be patient and wait my turn.
