Food plot ?

How did you plant them? Did you just churn up the dirt and hand spread seeds?

Yes, I tilled and spread the seed. I did drag it after spreading seed. The rain has not stopped so the seed popped quick. The deer are eating it faster than it grows.

How much milorganite did you put out per acre?

It is only about 1/3 acre. I put out 108lbs. 3 bags. You can smell it when you walk up to the edge of plot.

They killed it this weekend. Not sure it will make it.

I know they sell some "fencing" buts it's more like tape. Supposed to keep the deer off for a week or two. You can spray more scent on it to "recharge" the tape. I forget the name.

Seriously fencing would not have saved that plot either. They would have wiped out 4 foot tall plants in a week on 1/3 of an acre.

Can you expand that plot much larger?

agree with Steve, with that high deer density you need several acres of beans. but a plot of wheat and oats would work great in the fall.
